Two aerobic bacterial isolates, designated as strains CA2-7 and CA1UV-4, were isolated from soil samples collected at a construction site in Cheonan. Both strains were identified as Gram-stain-negative, rod-shaped and a phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that these strains constitute a distinct lineage within the family Hymenobacter (order Cytophagales, class Cytophagia). The closest genetic relatives were found to be members of the genus Hymenobacter, specifically Hymenobacter ginkgonis HMF4947 (with 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity of 97.28%) and Hymenobacter segetis S7-3-11 (98.10%). Both strains grew optimally at pH 7.0, 25 °C, without NaCl. Fatty acid analysis revealed distinctive profiles, with C anteiso and C iso predominating in strain CA2-7, while C iso and summed feature 3 (C ω7c/C ω6c) were the primary fatty acids in strain CA1UV-4. Both strains exhibited MK-7 as the major respiratory quinone. Biochemical, chemotaxonomic, and phylogenetic data support CA2-7 and CA1UV-4 as new Hymenobacter species. Accordingly, we suggest the names Hymenobacter cheonanensis and Hymenobacter convexus for strains CA2-7 (= KCTC 92968 = NBRC 116577) and CA1UV-4 (= KCTC 92970 = NBRC 116576), respectively.
从忠南一个建筑工地采集的土壤样本中分离出两株需氧细菌,分别命名为CA2-7和CA1UV-4菌株。两株菌均被鉴定为革兰氏阴性、杆状,基于16S rRNA基因序列的系统发育分析表明,这些菌株在Hymenobacter菌科(噬纤维菌目,噬纤维菌纲)中构成一个独特的谱系。发现最接近的亲缘种是Hymenobacter属的成员,具体为银杏黄杆菌HMF4947(16S rRNA基因序列相似度为97.28%)和土壤黄杆菌S7-3-11(98.10%)。两株菌在pH 7.0、25℃且无氯化钠的条件下生长最佳。脂肪酸分析显示出不同的谱图,CA2-7菌株中anteiso-C和iso-C为主,而CA1UV-4菌株中iso-C和总和特征3(C ω7c/C ω6c)是主要脂肪酸。两株菌均以MK-7作为主要呼吸醌。生化、化学分类和系统发育数据支持将CA2-7和CA1UV-4鉴定为新的Hymenobacter菌种。因此,我们分别建议将CA2-7(=KCTC 92968=NBRC 116577)和CA1UV-4(=KCTC 92970=NBRC 116576)菌株命名为忠南Hymenobacter菌和凸面Hymenobacter菌。
