Immunoprecipitation studies with antisera to alpha-macroglobulin (αM) were undertaken on the supernatants and extracts of human peripheral blood lymphocytes cultured in serum free medium containing [C]glutamine. These studies revealed that an appreciable amount of the [C]glutamine was recovered in the αM precipitate, suggesting that this protein was synthesized by lymphocytes.
