The nature of white cell adhesion to parasitic nematodes is little understood, although it has been widely observed and is considered to have an immunological basis. This paper presents comparative observations on white cell adhesions to several worm species occurring in non-sensitized parasite-free mice and in sensitized infected mice. Cell adhesions occurred in both types of animals. The adhering cell type is a large mononucleocyte of the lymphoid macrophage system, which stains with pyronin only when recovered from a sensitized mouse.
