[Angiography of the femoral artery with metrizamide without narcosis (author's transl)].

Metrizamide (Amipaque) is a new, non-dissociating contrast medium enabling completely painless angiographic examination of the arteries of the lower extremities. The contrast and visualisation--even of small vessels--are of the same standard as that of the angiographies effected with Amidotrizoat (Angiografin). Since general anaesthesia has been eliminated, the indication for angiography of the femoral artery can be broadened in the case of risk and emergency patients.
