Abstract

Experimental data on the influence of separate protein feeding by giving milk cassein at different hours of the day and night, apart from the energy-supplying food, to young rats, showed that protein is best utilized by the organism when given durins the dark period of the day. The results obtained are discussed in relation to the coefficients of protein and caloric effectiveness in the different hours of the day and night, with regulation of the light and dark period for 24 hours.
