Abdominal masses localized to the region of the kidney in the newborn require different diagnostic procedures. Taking advantage of cystourethrography, retrograde and intravenous pyelography and angiography, it should be possible to make the right diagnosis as in our two cases demonstrating renal vein thrombosis.
