Respiratory syncytial virus infection in Syrian hamsters. I. Development of humoral immunity.

Adult Syrian hamsters have been shown useful for the study of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. Clinical manifestations coincided with the maximum replication of the virus in respiratory tract of infected animals as confirmed by immunofluorescence (IF) test. The dynamics of secretory and serum antibody responses is described in infected and reinfected animals.
