[Treatment of Wilms' tumor].

Results of treatment for infants and children with Wilms' tumor were analyzed. Tumor free survival rate for patients treated during the years from 1955 to 1964 was 55.6%, while survival rates for those admitted to our Pediatric Surgical Service during the years 1964 through 1973 and during the years 1974 through 1982 were 77.8% and 90.0%, respectively. The tumor free survival rate of our recent patients is approximately the same as the survival rate of patients in the second National Wilms' Tumor Study of the United States. Recent advances in the therapeutic modalities for Wilms' tumor such as surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and their combination were reviewed.
