Abstract

Saccadic eye movements are the fast "catching movements" we use to bring a new object to the foveal region. They can be measured and analysed quantitatively e.g. with electrooculography. Saccades are sensitive to drugs, alcohol and fatigue and thus their measurement seems to be a promising method for research in toxicology and ergonomics.
