Of the allogenic transplants used in head and neck surgery, auditory ossicle transplants, allogenic cartilage transplants and fascia transplants have yielded good results in many cases. Recent reports describe the successful use of allogenic tracheal tissue. Auditory ossicles are most commonly preserved in cialite solution, while cartilage transplants are best preserved in merthiolate solution.
