Abstract
Monkeys in a social group drank sufficient alcohol to develop physical dependence, but it was not demonstrated that alcohol reinforced the drinking. Possible protocols for inducing sustained high-dose, alcohol-reinforced alcohol drinking in monkey social groups are proposed.
