It was detected that the blood immunoreactive insulin (IRI) level in thyrotoxic patients is changed on an empty stomach and after glucose load and the pancreatic beta-cell response to hyperglycemia is raised. The IRI level decreases depending on the disease severity, but remains sufficiently high in comparison with that of the control, hypersensitivity of the insular apparatus to glucose being persisted. Subtotal strumectomy-produced euthyrosis, developed shortly after elimination of thyroid intoxication, promotes normalization of the phonic insulin blood activity, but hypersensitivity of beta-cells to glucose persists, being accompanied by arising prolonged hyperinsulinemia in these patients after glucose load.
检测发现，甲状腺毒症患者空腹及葡萄糖负荷后血液中免疫反应性胰岛素（IRI）水平发生变化，胰腺β细胞对高血糖的反应增强。IRI水平随疾病严重程度降低，但与对照组相比仍足够高，胰岛对葡萄糖的超敏反应持续存在。甲状腺次全切除术后产生的甲状腺功能正常化，在消除甲状腺中毒后不久出现，促进了血液中胰岛素活性的正常化，但β细胞对葡萄糖的超敏反应仍然存在，这些患者在葡萄糖负荷后会出现持续性高胰岛素血症。
