Abstract

Male and female NMRI mice received a daily dose of 100 mg/kg thioctic acid i.v., s.c., or i.p. for five days after transplantation with Ehrlich ascites carcinoma. Median survival time, increase in body weight, and volume and cellular content of the ascitic fluid were determined. Except a decrease in survival time which was due to the high dose of the thiotic acid but not to an increased growth of tumor cells, there was no significant difference between treated animals and control groups.
