The protective activity of antiserum and immunoglobulin to the toxic components of P. aeruginosa slime was studied in experiments on passive mouse protection. Sheep antiserum, or immunoglobulin obtained from this antiserum, was found to have a pronounced protective effect (antimicrobial action) in the infection of mice with a homologous or heterologous P. aeruginosa strain. Normal sheep serum and its globulin fraction also had a definite unspecific antimicrobial and antitoxic activity as revealed in experiments on the passive protection of mice infected with P. aeruginosa.
