12 adult onchocerciasis patients from the rain forest zone of Nigeria were treated with furazolidone in divided daily doses ranging from 5--15 mg per kg body weight for 7--21 days to a maximum total dose of 6.3 g. The drug showed neither micro- nor macrofilaricidal activity against Onchocerca volvulus.
