[The department for bronchial asthma in the chest hospital (author's transl)].

The regression in morbidity of tuberculosis has changed the profile of the chest hospital. The number of patients with chronic obstructive lung diseases increased considerably. Special efforts are necessary for their diagnosis, therapy and assessment. Therefore it is favourable to concentrate patients with bronchial asthma in special departments and to qualify the medical staff in these special problems. In this paper a report is given on our own experience with such a special department for bronchial asthma in the last eight years.
