A series of 237 patients with burst fracture of the cervical spine was treated between 1965 and 1991. These fractures usually result from head-on dive or fall from the height leading to quadriplegia. An early surgical decompression of the spinal cord and fusion of the spine at the site of injury from the anterior approach is the treatment of choice in author's opinion. It improves neurological and functional results of treatment, shortens hospitalisation time.
1965年至1991年间，对237例颈椎爆裂性骨折患者进行了治疗。这些骨折通常由头朝下跳水或从高处坠落导致四肢瘫痪引起。作者认为，早期经前路对脊髓进行手术减压并在损伤部位进行脊柱融合是首选的治疗方法。它能改善治疗的神经和功能效果，缩短住院时间。
