Although various models of ethical decision-making in nursing have been developed, these models only identify the steps for ethical decision-making but describe no framework within which the decisions must be made. This model for ethical decision-making in nursing describes the practice of the nurse/midwife, steps for ethical decision-making as well as the framework for ethical decision-making. This model can be used as a guideline facilitating ethical decision-making which can be justified and explained.
