Transference-countertransference: realizing a love by not actualizing it.

This paper deals with the nature and function of transference and countertransference, with respect to transference love. After a summary of the major views on the nature of transference and its function in the analytic process, the paper presents a case in which this issue of transference love was pertinent and how the therapist dealt with these feelings.
