[The comparative morphological and morphometric characteristics of the myocardium in patients with a clinical diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy].

At the study of endomyocardial biopsies from 4 patients with clinical diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCMP), the diagnosis was not confirmed morphologically. A histomorphometric study of the biopsies also failed to confirm the presence of HCMP features, while histo-ultrastructural study revealed myocardial inflammation. Whether HCMP is a nosological entity or a clinical syndrome is discussed.
