A widely held belief among British dentists is that dentists in other European Countries (EC) fare better financially than their British counterparts. This belief prompted this comparative study of dentistry in the EC. Part 1 deals with disease levels and manpower considerations. Part 2 will deal with the financing of dental care in EC countries.
