Abstract
Rabbit erythrocytes were separated in vitro according to their age in vivo by centrifugation. The content of sialic acid and of neutral hexoses is significantly reduced on the old erythrocyte ghosts when compared to young ones. The content of fucose and hexosamines of young and old erythrocyte ghosts is similar.
