Abstract
The term subclinical hypothyroidism has been used to describe the syndrome of high serum levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone associated with normal levels of thyroid hormone. Diagnosis requires a sensitive method of measuring TSH. Because the syndrome does not invariably lead to overt hypothyroidism, it would not be appropriate to institute lifelong levothyroxine therapy in every case. Cases that do not qualify for immediate therapy need close follow up.

亚临床甲状腺功能减退症这一术语已被用于描述血清促甲状腺激素水平升高而甲状腺激素水平正常的综合征。诊断需要一种敏感的促甲状腺激素测量方法。由于该综合征并非总是会发展为显性甲状腺功能减退症，因此对每个病例都进行终身左甲状腺素治疗并不合适。不符合立即治疗条件的病例需要密切随访。
