An outbreak of type C botulism in cattle is reported, which was caused by the fact that litter from a broiler farm, in which a large number of toxic carcases had been present, had been used as a bedding in the cubicles. There is evidence to suggest that there is a relationship with the large number of cases of type C botulism in waterfowl in the Netherlands in recent years.
