Abstract

Photoreaction of various 5-bromouracil-containing oligonucleotides was investigated. It was found that a novel type of 5 cross-link products was formed at 5'-BrU-pyridimdine-3' sequence under UV irradiation. These cross-linked products were characterized by 1H NMR and mass spectra. It was found that this type of photo-cross-linking was actually proceeded in BrU-containing hexanucleotides.
