This study was performed to quantify cystoid changes in the fovea using fluorescein angiography with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope and digital image analysis. In digitized angiograms of 50 patients with branch retinal vein occlusion the number of cysts, the area of each cyst, and the relation of the total area to visual acuity was determined.
