[Aging and resorption].

The enteral absorption in dependence of age has been tested by D-xylose. From the additional investigation of the D-xylose reaction in the blood plasma one can detect statistically ascertained age relation in comparison between young and old healthy test persons. Though in old age the absorption process is retarded a sufficient absorption at a longer time at diminished speed of passage of the ingesta in old age.
