Seven cases of peripheral and five cases of central giant cell granulomas were evaluated for the detection of estrogen receptor proteins using immunohistochemical analysis. Strong positive staining was observed in the multinuclear cell population in five cases of peripheral giant cell granuloma. The mononuclear cell population was weakly positive in all cases. Estrogen receptor immunoreactivity was negative in all cases of central giant cell granulomas. It is well known that both peripheral and central giant cell granulomas of the jaws have a distinct female predilection. Our findings suggest that only the peripheral giant cell granuloma may be partially under hormonal influence.
对7例外周性巨细胞肉芽肿和5例中心性巨细胞肉芽肿进行免疫组织化学分析,以检测雌激素受体蛋白。在5例外周性巨细胞肉芽肿的多核细胞群中观察到强阳性染色。所有病例的单核细胞群均呈弱阳性。中心性巨细胞肉芽肿的所有病例雌激素受体免疫反应均为阴性。众所周知,颌骨的外周性和中心性巨细胞肉芽肿均有明显的女性偏好。我们的研究结果表明,只有外周性巨细胞肉芽肿可能部分受激素影响。
