Abstract
Over a 10 year period we have developed a radiological scoring system for ankylosing spondylitis (AS) using the lateral lumbar spine radiograph. The scoring system does relate to clinical features and has the ability to change with time. It has a low radiological exposure that may prove useful in the longitudinal assessment of patients with AS.
