The loss of blood group antigens in cancer has often been demonstrated. Davidsohn and co-workers propose the use of the mixed cells agglutination reaction for the prognostic evaluation and early diagnosis of carcinoma. Our own investigations confirm, that the mixed agglutination reaction can be easily applied to routine diagnosis. It was difficult to demonstrate H-antigen with the blood group O and to detect blood group substances in rectum cancers. The tissue sections could not be assessed by our technique.
