To evaluate clinical significance of HIF-1 alpha,VEGF and VEGF-C expression in papillary thyroid carcinoma.
HIF-1a,VEGF and VEGF-C expression were detected by immunohistochemical method in 73 patients of papillary thyroid carcinoma(group I ), 32 patients of thyroid adenoma(group II) and 35 patients of nodular goiter(group II ) respectively.
The expression of HIF-1 alpha in group I (75. 3%) was higher than that in group I (18. 8% ) and in group III (14. 3%) ( P <0. 01). The similar results were also observed about VEGF and VEGF-C. The positive rate of VEGF and VEGF-C (72. 6% and 65. 8%) in group I were markedly increased, compared with that in group II (18. 8% and 15. 6%, P<0. 01) or III (20. 0% and 11. 4%, P <0. 01) . In carcinoma patients with lymph node metastasis, the higher expressions of HIF-1a,VEGF and VEGF-C were observed as compared with those without metastasis( P <0. 05,respectively). VEGF and VEGF-C expression had a positive correlation with HIF-1 alpha ( P <0. 05).
In papillary thyroid carcinoma, HIF-1 alpha, VEGF and VEGF-C expression are significantly increased. Furthermore,VEGF and VEGF-C expression may be regulated by HIF-1 alpha, involving in the process of cancer cell spreading to lymph nodes.
评估缺氧诱导因子-1α(HIF-1α)、血管内皮生长因子(VEGF)及血管内皮生长因子-C(VEGF-C)在甲状腺乳头状癌中的表达及其临床意义。
采用免疫组化法分别检测73例甲状腺乳头状癌患者(I组)、32例甲状腺腺瘤患者(II组)及35例结节性甲状腺肿患者(III组)中HIF-1α、VEGF及VEGF-C的表达。
I组中HIF-1α的表达率(75.3%)高于II组(18.8%)和III组(14.3%)(P<0.01)。VEGF和VEGF-C也有类似结果。I组中VEGF和VEGF-C的阳性率(分别为72.6%和65.8%)明显高于II组(分别为18.8%和15.6%,P<0.01)及III组(分别为20.0%和11.4%,P<0.01)。有淋巴结转移的甲状腺癌患者中,HIF-1α、VEGF及VEGF-C的表达高于无转移者(P均<0.05)。VEGF和VEGF-C的表达与HIF-1α呈正相关(P<0.05)。
甲状腺乳头状癌中HIF-1α、VEGF及VEGF-C表达明显增加。此外,VEGF和VEGF-C的表达可能受HIF-1α调控,参与癌细胞向淋巴结转移的过程。
