Admiral nurses' role in a dementia carers' information programme.

Admiral nurses support families and carers of those affected by dementia and the future provision of dementia care must take into account the needs of carers. This article describes the delivery of a carers' information programme, which aims to provide educational and emotional support to carers. The development and ongoing evaluation of the education programme is discussed, and the resulting themes and future developments are considered in relation to the emerging national dementia strategy for England.
