Abstract
The diphosphatase of comminuted muscle tissue is activated by high MgCl2 concentrations. CaCl2, EDTA and low concentrations of MgCl2 lower the activity. The addition of diphosphate inhibits even after its complete enzymatic hydrolysis the breakdown of additionally added diphosphate; addition of MgCl2 increases the diphosphatase activity again.
