Abstract
A simple method for rapid identification and subtyping of herpes simplex virus from clinical specimens is presented. Inoculated cultures demonstrating cytopathic changes were treated with type-specific cytotoxic antisera against herpes simplex virus and complement. Lysis of cells was revealed by staining with trypan blue. The technique allowed identification and subtyping of herpes simplex virus within 2 h after the appearance of CPE.

本文介绍了一种从临床标本中快速鉴定和分型单纯疱疹病毒的简单方法。对接种后出现细胞病变的培养物，用针对单纯疱疹病毒的型特异性细胞毒性抗血清和补体进行处理。用台盼蓝染色显示细胞溶解情况。该技术可在细胞病变效应出现后2小时内实现单纯疱疹病毒的鉴定和分型。
