[Chronic conjunctivitis].

The etiology, clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva are described. It is emphasized that, despite the respective specific etiology, the symptomatology has common factors, treatment is difficult and all too often only symptomatic, and chronic inflammatory diseases of the conjunctiva sooner or later lead to the so-called dry eye syndrome.
