The control over diabetes mellitus depends upon the availability of insulin. Various efforts have been made in the recent past to control / check it. There is an increasing demand to use the natural antidiabetic agents. The literature pertaining to antidiabetic herbs is scattered. The present article is a conglomeration of available indigenous literature. It gives an additional information of list of antidiabetic plants which have not been discussed by Nagarajan et al(76) and Handa et al(45). It also presents some common plants used in diabetes, and the future of hypoglycaemic herbal drugs.
糖尿病的控制取决于胰岛素的可获得性。最近人们为控制/抑制糖尿病做出了各种努力。使用天然抗糖尿病药物的需求日益增加。有关抗糖尿病草药的文献分散。本文汇集了现有的本土文献。它提供了Nagarajan等人（76）和Handa等人（45）未讨论过的抗糖尿病植物清单的额外信息。它还介绍了一些常用于糖尿病的常见植物，以及降血糖草药的未来。
