Abstract

ABSTRACT

The clusters TiO(OPr)(OMc)(OPR) (OMc = methacrylate; R = Et, CHCHCHBr) and Ti(OPr)(OMc)(OPCHCH=CH) were obtained when Ti(OPr) was reacted with the corresponding bis(trimethylsilyl) phosphonate and methacrylic acid. Oxo clusters of the composition TiO(OPr)(OMc)(OPR), with a variety of groups R (Et, Ph, CH=CH, CHPh, CHCH=CH, CHCHCHBr, CHCHCN, CHC(O)Me, CHCHOC(O)C(Me)=CH), were formed instead, when a stoichiometric amount of water was added to the reaction mixture.
