A simple and convenient method has been developed for the construction of sulfonamides via IO-mediated sulfonylation of amines with arylthiols. The present protocol provides an attractive approach to sulfonamides in moderate to good yields from readily accessible and easy to handle starting materials under mild and metal-free conditions.
