Abstract

We report the direct splitting of pure water by light-excited graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN) modified with Pt, PtO , and CoO as redox cocatalysts, while pure g-CN is virtually inactive for overall water splitting by photocatalysis. The novelty is in the selective creation of both H and O cocatalysts on surface active sites of g-CN photodeposition triggering the splitting of water for the simultaneous evolution of H and O gases in a stoichiometric ratio of 2 : 1, irradiated with light, without using any sacrificial reagents. The photocatalyst was stable for 510 hours of reaction.

我们报道了用铂、氧化铂和氧化钴作为氧化还原助催化剂修饰的光激发石墨相氮化碳(g-CN)直接分解纯水的情况,而纯g-CN在光催化全分解水方面实际上是无活性的。新奇之处在于通过光沉积在g-CN的表面活性位点上选择性地生成氢和氧助催化剂,从而引发水的分解,在光照下以化学计量比2∶1同时释放氢和氧气体,且无需使用任何牺牲试剂。该光催化剂在510小时的反应中保持稳定。
