Abstract

Herbs that are usually recognized as medicinal plants are well known for their therapeutic effects and are traditionally used to treat numerous diseases, including aging. This study aimed to evaluate the metabolite variations among six selected herbs namely , , , , and using proton nuclear magnetic resonance (H-NMR) coupled with multivariate data analysis (MVDA). The free radical scavenging activity of the extract was measured by 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2-azinobis(3-ethyl-benzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assay. The anti-aging property was characterized by anti-elastase and anti-collagenase inhibitory activities. The results revealed that showed the highest radical scavenging activities and anti-aging properties. The partial least squares (PLS) biplot indicated the presence of potent metabolites in such as quercetin, quercetin-3--rhamnoside (quercitrin), myricetin derivatives, catechin, isorhamnetin, astragalin and apigenin. It can be concluded that can be considered as a potential source for an anti-aging ingredient and also a good free radical eradicator. Therefore, could be used in future development in anti-aging researches and medicinal ingredient preparations.

常用作药用植物的草药因其治疗效果而广为人知,传统上用于治疗许多疾病,包括衰老。本研究旨在使用质子核磁共振 (H-NMR) 结合多元数据分析 (MVDA) 来评估六种选定草药(即 、 、 、 、 、 )的代谢物变化。通过 2,2-二苯基-1-苦基肼 (DPPH)、2,2-联氮双(3-乙基苯并噻唑啉-6-磺酸) (ABTS) 和氧自由基吸收能力 (ORAC) 测定法测量提取物的自由基清除活性。抗老化特性通过抗弹性蛋白酶和抗胶原蛋白酶抑制活性来表征。结果表明, 表现出最高的自由基清除活性和抗衰老特性。偏最小二乘 (PLS) 双标图表明 中存在有效的代谢物,如槲皮素、槲皮素-3-O-鼠李糖苷(槲皮苷)、杨梅素衍生物、儿茶素、异鼠李素、黄芪苷和芹菜素。可以得出结论, 可以被认为是抗衰老成分的潜在来源,也是一种很好的自由基清除剂。因此, 可用于未来抗衰老研究和药用成分制剂的开发。
