Low pH of self-etch adhesives might cause suboptimal polymerization.
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dentin depth (deep and superficial) on polymerization efficacy of two self-etch adhesives, with different pH by means of Knoop hardness test.
In this in vitro study, sixty sound molars were used to prepare 30 superficial dentin and 30 deep dentin specimens. Dentin specimens of each depth were randomly distributed into two equal subgroups (N=15) and bonded by either Adper Prompt L-Pop (strong self-etch adhesive) or Adper Easy Bond (mild self-etch adhesive). Knoop hardness test was employed to evaluate degree of cross-linking of the adhesives. Data were analyzed with SPSS 16, using two-way ANOVA to compare mean hardness values of the study groups (< 0.05).
There was no interaction effect between dentin depth and the type of adhesive (= 0.36). Regardless of dentin depth, hardness of Adper Easy Bond was significantly higher than that of Adper Prompt L-pop (< 0.001). Moreover, both the adhesives showed higher hardness when bonded to superficial dentin compared to deep dentin (< 0.001).
Degree of cross-linking of the self-etch adhesive with mild acidity was more than that of the strong self-etch adhesive after light-curing. Surface hardness of both adhesives was higher on superficial dentin compared to deep dentin.
自酸蚀粘结剂的低pH值可能导致聚合效果欠佳。
本研究旨在通过努氏硬度测试,评估牙本质深度(深层和表层)对两种不同pH值的自酸蚀粘结剂聚合效果的影响。
在这项体外研究中,使用60颗完好的磨牙制备30个表层牙本质和30个深层牙本质标本。每个深度的牙本质标本随机分为两个相等的亚组(N = 15),分别用Adper Prompt L-Pop(强自酸蚀粘结剂)或Adper Easy Bond(弱自酸蚀粘结剂)进行粘结。采用努氏硬度测试评估粘结剂的交联程度。数据用SPSS 16进行分析,使用双向方差分析比较研究组的平均硬度值(<0.05)。
牙本质深度和粘结剂类型之间没有交互作用(P = 0.36)。无论牙本质深度如何,Adper Easy Bond的硬度均显著高于Adper Prompt L-Pop(<0.001)。此外,与深层牙本质相比,两种粘结剂粘结到表层牙本质时均显示出更高的硬度(<0.001)。
光固化后,弱酸性自酸蚀粘结剂的交联程度高于强自酸蚀粘结剂。与深层牙本质相比,两种粘结剂在表层牙本质上的表面硬度更高。
