A new anthraquinone, asperquinone A (), and four known anthraquinone derivatives - were isolated from the mangrove endophytic fungus sp. 16-5C. These structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configuration of was unambiguously determined by ECD calculation. Compounds - showed no significant inhibitory effect against protein tyrosine phosphatase B (MptpB).
