Abstract

Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is an important cause of pneumonia in humans, and it is associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, especially in immunocompromised patients. Its high rate of multidrug resistance led to an exploration of novel antimicrobials. Metal nanoparticles have shown potent antibacterial activity, thus instigating their application in MRSA. This review summarizes current insights of Metal-Containing NPs in treating MRSA. This review also provides an in-depth appraisal of opportunities and challenges in utilizing metal-NPs to treat MRSA.

耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA)是人类肺炎的一个重要病因,并且它与高发病率和死亡率相关,尤其是在免疫功能低下的患者中。其高多重耐药率促使人们探索新型抗菌药物。金属纳米颗粒已显示出强大的抗菌活性,从而促使其在MRSA治疗中的应用。本综述总结了含金属纳米颗粒治疗MRSA的当前见解。本综述还深入评估了利用金属纳米颗粒治疗MRSA的机遇和挑战。
