Scabies is a highly contagious disease affects many people worldwide each year and a major public health problem. A small number of studies have shown that scabies causes impairment in the quality of life in adult patients.
The aims of this study are to assess the impact of scabies on adult patients quality of life (QoL) and evaluate the relationship between depression and anxiety levels and impairment in life quality.
This cross-sectional study included adult patients diagnosed with scabies in our dermatology outpatient clinic. The effect of scabies on QoL was evaluated by Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), and the levels of depression and anxiety were evaluated by Beck Depression Scale (BDS) and Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS).
Totally, 85 patients included to the study. QoL of 72.2% of the patients was moderate to extremely large affected. There was a positive correlation between the duration of the disease, the total DLQI score and the severity of the disease impact on QoL (r= 0.287, P = 0.01 and r=0.280, P = 0.008, respectively). A positive correlation was found between the number of treatments received and the total DLQI (r= 0.223, P = 0.042). There was a positive correlation between BDS and BAS, and total DLQI score (r=0.448 and P = 0.000; rs=0.456 and P = 0.000, respectively).
Scabies has a moderate to severe effect on QoL. There was a positive correlation between impairment QoL and anxiety and depression scores.
疥疮是一种高度传染性疾病，每年影响全球许多人，是一个重大的公共卫生问题。少数研究表明，疥疮会损害成年患者的生活质量。
本研究的目的是评估疥疮对成年患者生活质量（QoL）的影响，并评估抑郁和焦虑水平与生活质量受损之间的关系。
这项横断面研究纳入了在我们皮肤科门诊诊断为疥疮的成年患者。通过皮肤病生活质量指数（DLQI）评估疥疮对生活质量的影响，通过贝克抑郁量表（BDS）和贝克焦虑量表（BAS）评估抑郁和焦虑水平。
共有85名患者纳入研究。72.2%的患者生活质量受到中度至极大影响。疾病持续时间、DLQI总分与疾病对生活质量影响的严重程度之间存在正相关（分别为r = 0.287，P = 0.01和r = 0.280，P = 0.008）。接受治疗的次数与DLQI总分之间存在正相关（r = 0.223，P = 0.042）。BDS与BAS以及DLQI总分之间存在正相关（分别为r = 0.448，P = 0.000；rs = 0.456，P = 0.000）。
疥疮对生活质量有中度至重度影响。生活质量受损与焦虑和抑郁评分之间存在正相关。
