Abstract

BACKGROUND

Macrophages in the synovium, as immune cells, can be polarized into different phenotypes to play an anti-inflammatory role in the treatment of osteoarthritis. In this study, bibliometric methods were used to search the relevant literature to find valuable research directions for researchers and provide new targets for osteoarthritis prevention and early treatment.

METHODS

Studies about the application of macrophages in the treatment of osteoarthritis were searched through the Web of Science core database from 2009 to 2022. Microsoft Excel 2019, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, R software, and 2 online websites were used to analyze the research status and predict the future development of the trend in research on macrophages in osteoarthritis.

RESULTS

The number of publications identified with the search strategy was 1304. China and the United States ranked first in the number of publications. Shanghai Jiao Tong University ranked first in the world with 37 papers. Osteoarthritis and Cartilage was the journal with the most publications, and "exosomes," "stem cells," "macrophage polarization," "regeneration," and "innate immunity" may remain the research hotspots and frontiers in the future.

CONCLUSION

The findings from the global trend analysis indicate that research on macrophages in the treatment of osteoarthritis is gradually deepening, and the number of studies is increasing. Exosomes may become a research trend and hotspot in the future.

背景

滑膜中的巨噬细胞作为免疫细胞,可以极化为不同的表型,在骨关节炎的治疗中发挥抗炎作用。本研究采用文献计量学方法,检索 2009 年至 2022 年 Web of Science 核心数据库中关于巨噬细胞在骨关节炎治疗中应用的相关文献,为研究人员寻找有价值的研究方向,为骨关节炎的预防和早期治疗提供新的靶点。

方法

通过 Web of Science 核心数据库检索 2009 年至 2022 年巨噬细胞在骨关节炎治疗中的应用研究,使用 Microsoft Excel 2019、VOSviewer、CiteSpace、R 软件和 2 个在线网站分析研究现状,并预测巨噬细胞在骨关节炎研究趋势的未来发展。

结果

通过检索策略确定的出版物数量为 1304 篇。中国和美国在出版物数量上排名第一。上海交通大学在世界范围内排名第一,发表了 37 篇论文。《骨关节炎与软骨》是发表论文最多的期刊,未来“外泌体”、“干细胞”、“巨噬细胞极化”、“再生”和“先天免疫”可能仍是研究热点和前沿。

结论

全球趋势分析的结果表明,关于巨噬细胞在骨关节炎治疗中的研究正在逐渐深入,研究数量也在增加。外泌体可能成为未来的研究趋势和热点。
