Abstract

Three strains belonging to the basidiomycetous yeast genus were isolated from marine water samples collected from intertidal zones in Liaoning province, northeast China. Phylogenetic analyses based on the sequences of the small subunit (SSU) ribosomal DNA (rDNA), the D1/D2 domain of the large subunit (LSU) ribosomal DNA (rDNA), the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS), the two subunits of DNA polymerase II ( and ), the translation elongation factor 1-α (), and the mitochondrial gene cytochrome b () showed that these strains together with 20 strains from various geographic and ecological origins from other regions of the world represent a novel species in the genus . We propose the name sp. nov. (holotype CGMCC 2.6457) for the new species, which differs phenotypically from its close relatives , , and by its ability to grow at 30 °C and on 50 % (w/v) glucose-yeast extract agar.

三株属于担子菌纲酵母属的菌株从中国东北辽宁省潮间带海水样本中分离得到。基于小亚基(SSU)核糖体 DNA(rDNA)、大亚基(LSU)核糖体 DNA(rDNA)的 D1/D2 结构域、内部转录间隔区(ITS)、DNA 聚合酶 II 的两个亚基(和)、翻译延伸因子 1-α()和线粒体基因细胞色素 b()序列的系统发育分析表明,这些菌株与来自世界其他地区不同地理和生态来源的 20 株菌株一起代表了该属中的一个新物种。我们提议将新物种命名为 sp. nov.(模式菌株为 CGMCC 2.6457),其与近缘种 、、和在表型上的区别在于能够在 30°C 和 50%(w/v)葡萄糖-酵母提取物琼脂上生长。
