Acute deteriorated consciousness is commonly reported in elderly COVID-19 patients. Secondary bacterial infection is common in critically ill COVID-19 patients. is a gram-positive, facultatively intracellular rod-shaped bacterium ubiquitously distributed in the environment and is an opportunistic and foodborne pathogen. Pregnant women and their newborns, adults aged 65 years or older, and immunocompromised people are more vulnerable to -related invasive disease. A 74-year-old man with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection with initial presentations of headache and acute disorientation, which was finally diagnosed with . bacteremia and meningitis. Multiplex polymerase chain reaction (Multiplex PCR) assay was used to rapidly diagnose it in the emergency department.
