[Composition and metabolism of low-density lipoproteins in rabbits of various ages].

It is shown that in old (aged 48-54 months) rabbits the percentage of low-density lipoproteins in the blood serum increases as compared to that in young (aged 6-10 months) animals. The age accumulation of the mentioned lipoproteins is combined with their slow removal from the blood. A decrease in the income of lipoproteins of the given class and their slow removal in the vascular wall of old rabbits is observed.
