Abstract

INTRODUCTION

The outbreak of COVID-19 has led to various challenges for healthcare workers, including nurses. Nurses play a critical role in the fight against this disease, and their communication of self-efficacy and job satisfaction has garnered significant attention. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between communication self-efficacy and job satisfaction of Iranian nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

METHODS

This study was conducted using a cross-sectional design. A total of 500 nurses working in hospitals in Iran were selected using a convenience sampling method. The communication self-efficacy scale and the job satisfaction scale were used to collect data.

RESULTS

The study found that nurses with higher communication self-efficacy exhibited better performance and job satisfaction in various work challenges ( = 0.56, < 0.001). However, nurses holding a master's degree or higher reported the lowest average communication self-efficacy and job satisfaction scores during the COVID-19 epidemic. The study also explored the impact of shift work on job satisfaction among nurses and found that nurses working exclusively on the morning shift reported the highest average job satisfaction score.

CONCLUSION

The findings of this study suggest that communication self-efficacy is an important factor in predicting job satisfaction among Iranian nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is recommended that healthcare organizations provide effective communication training sessions and mental health interventions to enhance nurses' communication self-efficacy and job satisfaction. This can ultimately lead to improved performance and better patient outcomes.

引言

新冠疫情的爆发给医护人员(包括护士)带来了各种挑战。护士在抗击这种疾病中发挥着关键作用,他们对自我效能感和工作满意度的表达受到了广泛关注。本研究旨在调查新冠疫情期间伊朗护士的沟通自我效能感与工作满意度之间的关系。

方法

本研究采用横断面设计。采用便利抽样法,共选取了500名在伊朗医院工作的护士。使用沟通自我效能量表和工作满意度量表收集数据。

结果

研究发现,沟通自我效能感较高的护士在各种工作挑战中表现更好,工作满意度更高(= 0.56,< 0.001)。然而,在新冠疫情期间,拥有硕士及以上学位的护士报告的平均沟通自我效能感和工作满意度得分最低。该研究还探讨了轮班工作对护士工作满意度的影响,发现仅上早班的护士报告的平均工作满意度得分最高。

结论

本研究结果表明,沟通自我效能感是预测新冠疫情期间伊朗护士工作满意度的一个重要因素。因此,建议医疗机构提供有效的沟通培训课程和心理健康干预措施,以提高护士的沟通自我效能感和工作满意度。这最终可以提高工作表现,改善患者预后。
