Abstract

INTRODUCTION

Diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia are the leading public health challenges worldwide, with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) representing most cases of diabetes. Traditional medicinal plants have also demonstrated efficacy in the treatment of metabolic diseases.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The present experimental study has been designed to evaluate and compare the hypoglycemic as well as hypolipidemic effects of Jamun and Paneer Flower with Metformin in rabbits for a short period.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

Healthy non-diabetic rabbits of either sex or weighing 2-3 kg were used in this study, divided into seven groups. Animals were treated with different doses of Syzygium cumini (150 and 200 mg/kg), Withania coagulans (3 and 4 g) Methanolic extract, and Metformin group. The main endpoints centering on the monitoring of related for each participant are fasting plasma glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and serum lipid profiles. These parameters are measured by blood samples drawn at certain points during the glucose clamp.

RESULT

Comparative Data: Analysis for the in-vivo efficacy of natural agents versus Metformin based on blood glucose and lipid levels will be assessed statistically.

CONCLUSION

This investigation could be used to defend the potential of S. cumini and W. coagulans as complementary or adjuvant therapy among T2DM-associated hyperlipidemia that provides a natural alternative method for conventional existing treatments.
